Biography

Alexandra is a Berlin based performance artist and movement educator originally from the Deep South of America. With a focus on movement, visual imagery, and sound, Alexandra creates embodied performance that challenges traditional notions of dance. Her approach is to create evocative experiences that engage the audience and foster a deeper understanding of the human condition. Her belief is that art has the power to mirror the deep reservoir of human memory and emotion.

She has appeared in work dancing with/for Emily Schoen, Doug Gillespie, Julia Antinozzi, ChristinaNoel Reaves, Evik Abbott-Main, Melissa Riker and Kelly Ashton Todd. She has trained around the world at institutions such as San Francisco Conservatory, Merce Cunningham Trust, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Springboard Danse Montreal, among other schools with teachers and mentors of a diverse background.

Alexandra’s own work has been presented through the Louisiana Arts Council, Oregon Fringe Festival, and Chez Bushwick in New York.

​

She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of Arizona where she was awarded the Gertrude Shurr award for excellence in modern dance performance.
